Sgt. 1st Class Thaddeus Warren Clark, 48, began active duty service in February 1990 as a petroleum specialist. He served more recently as a mental health specialist and was assigned to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood since Dec. 2010. Clark was deployed to support Operation Iraqi Freedom from Oct. 2008 to May 2009. He had received numerous awards and decorations, some of which included a Meritorious Service Medal, six Army Good Conduct Medals, a Global War on Terrorism Medal, a United Nations Medal and an Overseas Service Ribbon
